Best scooters for children

For many, a scooter is the epitome of childhood and playing on the streets. Fortunately, that is still the case. Today, we are just lucky that scooters are available in all kinds of shades. If you are looking for a scooter for children, you can safely stop here on this page.

Scootworld brings scooters to your child - whether he/she is 2, 6 or even 10 years old. We have it all. Before you buy a scooter for your child, however, you should make yourself clear about what our different scooters have to offer. In this way, your child gets the scooter that best suits the needs.

Scooters for 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds

Just 10 years ago, it was not normal to see 2- and 3-year-olds on bicycles. In that case, two support wheels were mounted on the rear wheel of the bicycle so that the children could keep their balance. Today, you actually don't see very many children with support wheels, and we can thank the scooter for that. The balance bike strengthens children's balance so that they are ready to cycle without support wheels.

10 years ago there were also no scooters for 2-year-olds and scooters for 3-year-olds in the same way as today. On this page we have a scooter with two wheels at the front and one at the back. In this way, the very young can also join in when the children ride scooters down the streets.

Scooter for 4 - 6 year olds

But what then when your child is 4, 5 and 6 years old? What is the best scooter for a 4-year-old, for example, and which scooter for a 4-year-old should you choose?

As with everything else for children, you have to start from the individual child and the individual child's motor skills. A scooter for a 4-year-old can easily be the same as a scooter for a 5-year-old or a scooter for a 6-year-old.

If the child has really good motor skills, you do not necessarily need to buy a scooter with three wheels. Perhaps an ordinary scooter can do it - you know best yourself. If you are in doubt about how strong your child's motor skills are, you can perhaps borrow your neighbour's scooter and see if it fits the particular child you are about to buy for.

A scooter for 5-year-olds can therefore have both three and two wheels. It's very different.

Scooter for 7 - 10 year olds

My child is 7 years old and up. So what should I choose?

When you are looking for a scooter for a 7-year-old or a scooter for an 8-year-old, you no longer need three wheels. At this age, the vast majority of children are so motorically developed that they can easily handle two wheels. If necessary, start with a beginner scooter with the most basic functions.

A scooter for a 9-year-old and a scooter for a 10-year-old can easily be of a more professional caliber. Again, it depends on the child's level. If the child has always ridden a scooter, you could already consider a scooter that has all the functions.
